Vale Paez Pulido
Camp Experience: Crawdads (5-6 year olds) Counselor ‘22, Guppies (3-4 year olds) Counselor ‘24
Vale (they/any) is a coterm born in Cuernavaca, Mexico and raised in sunny Miami, Florida. They enjoy art and film, salmon in all forms, Snoopy and Mafalda, and spending time with those she loves. At Stanford, they studied Product Design with a minor in Comparative Studies of Race and Ethnicity. They aim to synthesize the act of design/creation with a lens of justice, and are now continuing this in their MS in Earth Systems where they are focusing on Environmental Justice Design. They are working in the Interview Committee as an At-Large member and Intentional Community Coordinator, after being with the Guppies in '24 and the Crawdads in '22. She would love to talk about wellness as a collective practice, decolonial theory, reciprocity in communities, and queer friendship. On campus, they are a part of Latinx, design, queer, environmental justice, organizing and cooperative living communities. They love to get to the root of issues and ideate solutions- whether that is for a more equitable water system or a better way to cut a bagel in the mornings.
