Camp Experience: Mountain Biking Instructor/Chicken (Kitchen) '23 & Chicken (Kitchen) '24

Calvin (he/him) is bursting with excitement for this next summer, after countless hours spent sitting on the boat dock, dancing with dishes, making milkshakes, Friday BBQing with the Chicken (kitchen), and jumping IN... THE... LAKE! As Individual Instructor Coordinator (IIC), he hopes to support the Staphers who are too cool (or uncool) to work with kids or at Ski Dock, whether they're planning pickleball tournaments, leading a glass-etching workshop, or helping guests in the Office. It was at Camp that Calvin learned the perfect omelet flip, how to bump, set, and spike (kind-of), and to find joy in collage. His deep-seated love for Camp comes from the sunsets over Fallen Leaf Lake, the countless friendships and fond memories made each week, and the growth and change he's experienced while living in a place that is truly magic. He hopes you'll find these things too. On Campus, Calvin is an Earth Systems Major & Environmental Communication Coterm, combining his passions for ecology, environmental justice, and stewardship into the foundation for a career in outdoor education. You might find him searching for a novel in the Green Stacks, DJing at KZSU, leading a wildflower tour at Jasper Ridge, or napping on the Mars lawn. Ask him about the NYT Crossword, his extensive ranking of Charli XCX's discography, any movie considered "camp," or anything related to Camp you might wonder (the many different ways to find joy and recharge, what a typical day might look like, the financial deets)!
