Matt Buckle
Camp Experience: Office ‘24, Crawdads Counselor ‘25
If you ask Matt (he/him) ('27) what keeps him coming back to Camp, he’ll tell you it’s the people. Born and raised in a small coal town in Southeastern Kentucky, Matt has always been drawn to tight-knit communities, and Camp feels like home in the best way possible. He spent his first summer ('24) working as an Office Assistant and his second ('25) chasing around the Crawdads (5- and 6-year-olds) as a counselor, and he’s beyond excited to return this year as an At-Large Coordinator! On campus, Matt is studying economics with a focus on game theory and sustainability. He’s passionate about finding ways to build more resilient communities through climate-focused investing and environmental entrepreneurship. In his free time, Matt loves throwing down to music of all genres, including but not limited to electronic, alternative, rock, country, hard funk, and folk. He also loves exploring fashion archives (his favorite designer is Robert Wun) and playing spike ball and volleyball. Matt loves meeting new people, and he can't wait to meet you! Talk to him about Camp or life in general—10/10 response to the former, can’t make any promises for the latter.
