Camp Experience: Ski Dock Instructor '26

📧mhanki03@stanford.edu

Mara (she/her) ('29) could not be more excited to return to Stanford Sierra Camp as Ski Dock Head for Summer 2027. There's no place she would rather be! Working as a ski dock instructor last summer, Mara discovered the joy of teaching guests, especially young kids, how to wakeboard and waterski, and loved providing Staph the opportunity to do the same (ANY Staph, no matter their job or previous experience, can and should get out on the water!). Off-dock, Mara enjoyed judging the Camp egg drop contest (it gets serious), laughing on every meal shift, crashing the arts & craft lessons, and dancing at the Silent Disco we put on for guests. On campus, Mara is often trying to get off of it :) and go hiking, camping, climbing, or—soon!—skiing. She is thrilled to major in Earth Systems (there are so, so many meaningful courses, no matter your interests), loves taking Communications and Creative Writing classes, reporting for The Daily, and spending money on iced lattes (a hobby she will continue at Camp). Whether you're interested in ski dock, working at Sierra Camp in general, or just want to chat, please don't hesitate to reach out!
